Floyd L. Howard of Jersey City passed away peacefully with his family at home  Saturday October 21, 2017. Born in Suffolk, VA he lived in Jersey City for many years. Floyd worked in the Accounting Department of Con Edison New York for 46 years retiring in 2012. Floyd served in the US Army. A Community Activist, he was a mentor to many, a member of the Marist High School Men's Club, volunteering at Soup Kitchens. He was a Bartender at Knots and later O'Abby's Jersey City. Beloved husband of Celeste (Lee) Howard. Dear father of Glenn Howard, Brett Howard and his wife Nikki. Grandfather of Jarett Howard,Bre'yanna Howard, and Da'mar Long .Brother of Henry E. Howard ,Priscilla H. Jackson, Nelson Charity, Daniel Howard, Francis .E Howard,Sr. Carlos A Howard and the late Lula H. Wooden Thomas and Alexander Howard .Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends Visitation will be Sunday October 29, 2017 at Greenville Memorial Home Jersey City from 3:00-7:00pm. Everyone will meet on Monday October 30, 2017 at Christ the King Church 768 Ocean Ave Jersey City with viewing beginning at 10:0 0am Funeral Mass 11:00 am. Burial Holy Name Cemetery Jersey City, NJ.

Floyd was always polite and was really super helping with bingo at Marist High School. I really liked how he could shoot a game of pool with one hand. He was a role model for all young children of this era. Floyd we will all love and miss you. James
