Ronald P. Israelski, 75, died June 4, 2017 at Jersey City Medical Center. A lifelong Jersey City resident, born July 2, 1941, the son of the late Mary Ann Zeman Israelski and Ignatius John Israelski, he retired 13 years ago as Assistant Tax Collector for the City of Jersey City after 25 years of service

Prior to that, he was a draftsman for Westinghouse Elevator Corp. Jersey City for 10 years and also for 10 years as a draftsman for Otis Elevator.


Ron grew up and was raised in the Greenville section of Jersey City, in St. Paul the Apostle Parish until the Archdiocese of Newark opened Our Lady of Mercy Parish with a line of demarcation, where residents west of Kennedy Blvd. became parishioners of Our Lady of Mercy. He was an animal rights advocate. He was Past President of Society Hill and member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 266, Jersey City.

Dear brother of Edmond Israelski and his wife Linda of Chicago, Illinois. Loving uncle of Christin Israelski and Keri Anne Israelski Scheirman. Grand-uncle of Ariana Scheirman. Ron is also survived by his cherished cat Speakers.

Visitation begins Sat. June 10, 2017 at 9:30am at Greenville Memorial Home 374 Danforth Ave. Jersey City. Eulogy 11am followed by Prayer Service at 11:30am. Ron will be buried with his parents in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to People for Animals 401 Hillside Ave. Hillside, NJ 07205
